M.O.M.S. (Mom-on-Mom-Support) GUIDE:

Eating to Survive

the First Years of Motherhood

"M.O.M.S. (Mom-on-Mom Support) Eating To Survive the First Years of Motherhood" is an eBook written for mothers of young children who struggle to find the time and energy to feed themselves healthy, nutritious foods.

Please note: The book shown above is an ELECTRONIC book - it's meant to be downloaded and read online, or printed it out for hard copy reading.

This is the eBook I was looking for when I was pregnant the first time.  I couldn’t find it anywhere… so I joined forces with two other holistic health counselors (also moms!) to create it.

Now that I’m pregnant with Baby #2, I’ve printed out this eBook and have it ready to go for those early sleep-deprived days and nights.  I loved every recipe I’ve tried from this eBook, and can’t wait to share the information with other moms.

When we first started creating this eBook, my son was only 7 months old. I was being challenged by real-life questions every new mom faces:

“What the heck should I eat?”

“How can I find time to cook a meal for myself?”

“Most importantly… how can I find time to actually eat a meal for myself?”

Now I realize those questions never go away, even as your kids get older.  Moms everywhere – with kids of all ages – are challenged by healthy eating and need this eBook!

When you're feeding and bathing and soothing and changing and rocking a new babe... it's hard to find time to nourish your own body, isn't it?  But when you're a new mom, nourishing yourself with good food is SO important.

Good food not only helps your body rebuild from the demands of pregnancy and birth, but it gives you the energy and nutrition you need to be available to yourself and your baby.

This eBook offers a step-by-step, simple plan to help new moms get healthy food into their bodies.

How is this eBook different than other books written for new moms?

This eBook focuses solely on new moms’ nutritional needs. There are lots of books out there that focus on foods for the baby… but there are few books that focus on what the mom herself should be eating. Yet every woman strong nutritional support in the first few years of motherhood (especially if she’s breastfeeding).

This eBook was written by three holistic health counselors who are real-life moms! Many books are written by doctors or healthcare providers – but sometimes these folks don’t understand what it’s like to try and make a meal – never mind eat a meal – when you’re taking care of a young child.  We get it – we’ve been there – and all of our suggestions are reasonable.  Our personal stories (where we share our mistakes) are funny, too!

This eBook is short!  I've never understood why people write 300-page books for new moms... new moms will NEVER have the time or energy to get through a 300-page book! This book is less than 50 pages, so you can access what you need quickly.

This eBook is designed so that new moms can take action quickly.  Even if you don’t have time to read the whole eBook right away, you can immediately download the grocery shopping list, recipes, and personal action plan… so you can start improving your diet right away.

The electronic format provides instant gratification! No need to go to the store or library to get the book… and no need to pay for shipping.   You can download the eBook immediately onto your computer.  Which is great when you’re really busy and insanely tired!

TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR MOM READERS:

“M.O.M.S. Guide” is a wonderful resource full of helpful information that reassured me that I can eat well with limited time.  I only wish I had gotten it much sooner when Isabella was first born.  I’m excited and eager to try the new recipes that you included.  Isabella loves hummus so I know I will be making that one first.  It’s a quick, easy read with personal stories the reader can relate to.  Thanks for a great mother’s companion!" - Krystina

"I love it and I can't wait to recommend it to my clients! You did such a fabulous job making it super user-friendly and fun.  Congratulations!" - Joy Flood, Shiatsu Practitioner and mom to new baby Max

"I love it!  I couldn't stop reading it!  I would absolutely like to be able to share this eBook with my patients, friends, and family. It offers some very useful tips and recipes I'll be sure to try." - Shayla Caron, Caron Family Chiropractic, and mom to Molly

"As a second time expectant mother, I can tell you that one of my biggest struggles after my daughter was born was finding food that was quick, easy, and healthy. I would often look at the clock around 1pm and realize I'd eaten nothing all day – not a good idea for a nursing mother! This eBook (quick and easy itself) is packed full of excellent suggestions for food that will help give a new mom the energy she needs to survive the day.

Then, it goes a step further to help you devise an action plan to put these ideas into practice. I've already read the book twice (and my baby is not here yet) and have begun working on the action plan so that I won't be caught off guard again. This eBook is an invaluable resource to new moms…even those who have been there before." - Crissy Lippman, mom to Lexi and soon-to-be-born baby boy!

"I can tell the eBook was written from experience!
I think the tips for new moms are excellent and helpful. Your humor is wonderfu, too, and important for women who are facing the challenges of motherhood every day."
- Betsey Beaven, Chef and Restaurant consultant,
Co-author of four vegetarian cookbooks -

"I love the simple food lists and action plan!  I am pregnant now and want to prepare how to deal as best as possible once the baby arrives.  Your work is so helpful!" - Kelly Mashu, mom-to-be

"I read your ebook a couple of weeks ago and should have written right away……because I LOVE IT!  You three did a fabulous job.  I don’t even have kids and I was compelled to read every word of it.  The graphics are stunning, clever, engaging, appealing.  I think it’s da bomb!" - Cheryl Miller, of CherylMillerVille.com

Here's what your humble authors/moms have to say:

“I became inspired to write this book after my son was born and I struggled with finding time to cook and eat healthy foods myself," said Christi Collins. “I’ve already started using this eBook in preparation for the arrival of my second baby."

Christi is the owner of Boston Health Coach, a holistic health counseling firm based outside of Boston, MA. She facilitates nutrition and wellness teleclasses for corporate clients and is active in the worlds of birth and postpartum support for new moms.  She is mom to Evan and is expecting her second child.

“The inspiration for this project came from all my work with new moms struggling with what to eat and feeling so challenged in actually making it happen.  I knew we needed to come up with a step-by-step no brainer guide that moms could use to get through this unique time in their journey.  I turned to two of my dear friends and colleagues who were “living it” to bring real life, real time experience to the book,” says Pamela Rich.

Pamela maintains offices in Oyster Bay, NY and Manhattan and works with clients throughout the country over the phone providing Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle Guidance to Nourish the Whole You. She is co-owner of Healthy Thyme offering Organic Vegetarian Cooking Classes and International  Holistic Retreats.

“We began writing this book when Christi and I had babies. We needed the information in this book - and the support it provided - but there was nothing out there that focused on what we needed,” said Amara Wagner. “Everything was focused on what the baby needed. We knew our babies were fine. WE NEEDED THE HELP.”

Amara is the owner of Amara Wellness Holistic Health Counseling based in Bergen County, NJ. She offers coaching and cooking classes to families who are looking to improve their quality of life through better food choices. She is also the founder of Nourishing Mommies, an organic, home-cooked meal delivery service for new mothers in the NY/NJ area. Amara is the mother of two-year old Sam.
